Ek Tha Tiger Box Office Tally: With the rule of the Titan, Ek Tha Tiger raked in all the moolah with about 162.05 crores
This, Independence Day, Vengeance got a new meaning to it as Salman Dabangg Khan returned on screen after a year long gap with YRF’s ‘Ek Tha tiger’. given his past records, Salman’s previous three films have gone on to create history in the world of film-making. The Ruler of the box office, he is the most bankable actor in the business today. Be it the brave action sequences or the silly antics, no one does it better than him. And we love him for that.
The film, Ek Tha tiger is high on brand value for all definite reasons. Firstly, Salman comes back with a bang and his huge loyal fan base is eagerly waiting to catch him on screens today. Secondly, the film marks the return of the one time beaus Salman-Katrina on screen, yet another time after the debacle of ‘Yuvraaj’. While industry insiders suggest love has started brewing yet another time between the two while filming, they have a different voice to it. Thirdly, it is a Yash Raj production, it is coming from the biggest brand in the country today and is headed by a director who is creatively insane with his craft, Kabir Khan! ETT is expected to be a no-nonsense flick, a diversion from the usual Salman films that we get to see these days. These three reasons coupled with the huge anticipation and mass hysteria is surely going to take the film a long way ahead in the running.
According to early Monday estimates, the film had a record breaking 80% advance booking occupancy sold and some multiplexes and single screens also showed a Housefull board for the film’s show timings. With million waiting in the queue for their ETT tickets, this film is expected to be a blockbuster. Early estimates suggest the film has opened to a mammoth response and is definitely going to sustain the track for the next few weeks to come. Thats Salman for you and Eid belongs to no other Khan better than him. Period.
The film ‘Ek Tha tiger’ is released in a a record breaking 3000 screens nationwide and 500 screens overseas, the highest for Salman in the overseas till day. With the pack and punch already created about the film, everyone’s looking forward to the film and it was not a surprise when ETT went on to shatter all box office records, including the recently set opening record of 25 crores by Hrithik’s Agneepath. Lets just wait and watch for it, till the final verdict is out for the day!
After storming the box office with an earth breaking 32.92 crores on the opening day, ETT went on a slow low for the next three days roping in 14.55 crores, 12.80 crores on the next two days. But yet again, the weekend started off on a good note with an increased income on Saturday as the count raised to almost 17 crores (16.78 approx). The total collections have been huge in the domestic circuit and ETT is on its way to enter the 100 crore brigade, rather smoothly! Plus, the holidays on account of Eid, Salman’s hot favourite occasion is all set to re boost Tiger’s Fate for the longer stay!
Update : ETT Earned 23+ cr On Sunday and reached 100cr club on 5th day.
