“Chumma De De Deepika” says Ranbir ..

Aha Aha.. Don’t get it wrong..Its just the ex-lovers Deepika-Ranbir are alighting the flames of romance, not in real life but in reel life, as in on screen. Don Juan, Ranbir Kapoor and long-legged, Deepika Padukone, are knuckling down in “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani” under Ayan Mukherjee’s direction  and Karan Johor’s Dharma Productions.

Now wondering where is the “chumma” tale coming from? Ah, its a perky number from the past “Jhumma Chumma De De” with Big B Amitabh Bachchan shaking his leg in the movie “Hum”. Again wondering what it has to do with Ranbir and Deepika? Oho, its Ranbir and Deepika who would recreate the magic of the song.

Reports  have it that in the upcoming romantic flick , the charmer Ranbir Kapoor, YJHD [Yeh Jawana Hai Deewani], will be seen seeking a “chumma” from his ladylove Deepika, by means of this song. Ayan Mukherjee, Ranbir and Deepika are huge fans of  Big B and when it came to choosing a track from the past , which would serve the purpose and rouse the apt interest was “Jhumma Chumma De De” from Mukul Anand’s blockbuster hit “Hum” of 1991.

And even the huge success of remake of Big B’s Agneepath under the Dharma Productions, triggered the choice of another chart-topping track of Big B.

Its also reported that Ranbir will take up the mike in his own hands and would take charge of the vocals. The original number was scored by legendary duo Laxmikant -Pyarelal and,Sudesh Bhosle and Kavita Krishnamurthy had lent their melodious voices, with parts rapped by none other than Amitabh Bachchan himself.

By acquiring the rights of the “Jumma chumma”, Adarsh Gupta, Business Head of Saregama, has further confirmed the news.

For the movie Ranbir, playing the character of Bunny is up in a mood for experimentation, he is also reported to flaunt pierced ears.

The music department of the movie is being handled by Pritam and is expected to recreate the magic his music carries.The movie also stars Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Koelchin.

The movie is on the floors and is likely to hit the screens in 2013.

The choreographer of the song is still under wraps and yet unknown of, so the question that lies on the open front is that whether Ranbir-Deepika would ditto the same signature steps or would be seen dancing on new ones.The song in itself is very zingy and naughty and we are covetous and ardently waiting to see how Ranbir says “Chumma De De Deepika”. Romantic chi are definitely emanating, if not in real life, definitely on screen for the ex-sweethearts.
