Rating:
Ferrari Ki Sawaari, the film which has been oozing out quite high in the media and on the channels, eventually hits the screens today. The first time director Rajesh Mapuskar comes up with a unique subject to make a movie on. The banner of Vidhu Vinod Chopra always brings up something different. The movies made under this banner show that through work has been done before putting them on floors. Story and scripting is done very carefully in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s movies and since the script is the life of any movie, they take special care of it. This is the reason the movies churned out at VCP’s platform are regarded high for creatively scribbled down screenplays. Majority of this production house’s films work big time at the box office.
Ferrai Ki Sawaari is the production of Vidhu Vinod Chopra and this time around once again the story and screenplay have been given special attention and care. Rajkumar Hirani chooses a brilliant plot to make an interesting celluloid saga for the audiences who always seek something enticing from the house. The intelligent writer-director Rajkumar Hirani is famous for creating alluringly luminous stories and this time again he very intelligently generates a masterpiece for the director to do execution on.
Bollywood has now started growing wider and we witness variety of subjects on silver screen, which is a good sign and has to be applauded. Experimentation is being done that is imperative for an industry to grow worldwide and tread along with the counterpart ‘Hollywood’. Vidhu Vinod Chopr’s productions are the active parts of the experimentations in the industry.
Kayo (Ritwik Sahore), a 12 years old boy, is inspired by the cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar and he always dreams of playing cricket at the Lord’s Cricket Stadium. Rusy (Sharman Joshi) is his father who is an honest head clerk. His only concern in life is to see his son happy but he is unable to fulfill his son’s dream. Kayo’s grandfather Deboo (Boman Irani) is a hopless and frustrated man. For a training camp at Lord’s Cricket Stadium, Kayo gets selected and now the funds are needed to send him there. An incident happens which changes the thinking of Deboo and he too joins in his son to fulfill his grandson’s sweet dream. To fulfill his son’s dreams, Rusy does a small act of dishonesty for the first time in his life. He borrows a swanky red hot Ferrrari. The trouble is that he does not inform the vehicle’s owner. There starts off a wild, puffing and bouncy ride of Ferrari that leads to horde of amazing characters.
Script is really enthralling though there are a few of faults but those are utterly ignorable when the overall product is scrumptious. Rajesh Mapuskar and Vidhu Vinod Chopra have done brilliance for writing such an amazingly catchy screenplay. The characterization, emotions and entertainment quotient all are found in the flick which lure the souls.
Rajesh Mapuskar shows off his dexterity as a brilliant storyteller. The execution is awesome and you find yourself glued to the screens extracting joys out of the film. Pritam scores feel-good music for the album and the songs work with the listeners. Vidya Balan’s item number is already much popular among the audiences. Sudheer Palsane’s cinematography is catchy. Deepa Bhatia’s editing is good. Rajkumar Hirani impresses with dialogues writing.
Sharman Joshi shows his class with this act of a father of a kid. His acting skills are brilliant. We can witness his selection in Best Actor’s category in upcoming movie awards. Boman Irani is in his usual best. Boman is a true asset of Hindi film industry. Whatever character is given, he enacts with such ease that you start loving him. Ritwik Sahore, a classy discovery, essays his part with gusto. Paresh Rawal does brilliance with his cameo. Rest of the cast too enacts well.
Final Verdict by the Critic:
A sensitive story, Ferrari Ki Sawaari is a luminous effort which must be applauded. Recommended.

It is a small budget movie but definitely has a story that will appeal to masses.
Sharman Joshi and Vidhu Vinod Chopra have worked together before for the movie ‘3 Idiots’ and it was a huge success, Sharman even won the award for best supporting actor for the same film at a prestigious award show in the year 2010. Sharman’s acting skills have always been appreciated by the critics and since it is his first film in the lead he has been trying hard to give his best performance till date. In this movie Sharman Joshi will be seen driving a red Ferrari at some point of time. This Ferrari belongs to the Bollywood Superstar Sanjay Dutt. As Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Sanjay Dutt are close friends, Vidhu requested Sanjay to lend his Ferrari for the shooting purpose and Sanjay Dutt gladly accepted it. He not only gave his Ferrari for the shooting purpose he also gave driving lessons to Sharman Joshi in person as the later wasn’t acquainted with driving a Ferrari. But after a few lesson from Sanjay himself, Sharman quickly learned the skills and became a pro at it. Later on Sanjay Dutt even offered Sharman to drive his Ferrari whenever he felt like.
Ferrari Ki Sawaari is going to be a good movie with a soul in it. People can definitely expect something good out of the movie as the people in it and working on it are really talented and have given some amazing movies and performances in the past. Though Ferrari Ki Sawaari is releasing in the midst of Indian Premier League, it still won’t loose at the box-office and will do good business
