Mumbai: Arjun Kapoor, till some time back, was an unknown name for the masses. But today he is a name which is famed and he is now a celeb of Bollywood who has started being known in the world post his great debut in Yash Raj Films’ Ishaqzaade. The film did brilliantly well at the box office and it is the movie which really impressed the critics and allured the audiences.
Well, all eyes were on the matter which film he will do next. Now you guys need not to think more over the matter as Arjun has been signed by the big filmmakers of Bollywood cinema – Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala. Both Karan and Sajid have made association to churn out a film ‘2 States’ which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel. There were lots of rumors for various actors making the lead in 2 States but now all the rumors have to shut up since Arjun is finalized.
Debutante director Abhishek Verman has been roped in to direct this film. The source reveals that Arjun was signed recently in the lead role and the movie will go on floors by the end of this year. The leading heroine of the movie is yet to be finalized. Many names are being considered and expectations are that soon the makers will zero in one name.
The source adds that Sajid Nadiadwala bought the rights of the novel by Chetan Bhagat. It was learnt that initially Vishal Bhardwaj was to direct the film thus Ranbir Kapoor was finalized for the lead but Ranbir was busy then Imran Khan was taken on board. Imran too said sorry later due to heavy engagements thus now the director and the lead actor both have been changed – Abhishek to direct and Arjun to play the lead.
In this movie, Arjun is to play the role of a Delhi boy who starts loving a south Indian girl. The movie will be shot in Delhi.
